Aselin Debsion's hometown is Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Her career started when she was only nine. She was asked to perform Cape Breton's anthem at a coal miners' rally.
Aselin Debison's first album was released in 2001, and was nominated for an East Coast Music Award for "Pop Album of the Year." Her album was called "The Littlest Angel." In 2002, Aselin Debison released her second album with Sony Music, called "Sweet Is The Melody." The album got to number ten on the Billboard charts, and Aselin got multiple East Coast Music Awards for it. Aselin went on a very succsessful tour across North America where she sang the anthem for the Toronto Raptors, performed with Clint Black at Carnegie Hall, sang for the Boston Tree Lighting ceremony twice, appeared on several televison shows, sang for the Prime Minister of Canada, and even performed for Queen Elizabeth.
Aselin was also chosen to sing the theme song for the movie "Blizzard," called "Centre of My Heart." Her song "Moonlight Shadow," got spot number 3 on the charts, which topped Madonna.
In Febuary 2005, Aselin released her sophomore album, called "Bigger Than Me." After this album, Aselin went on a cross-Canada mall tour, and performed for Canada Day Celebrations on Parliament Hill for a second time, which got her many more East Coast Music Award nominations.
Aselin Debison eventually started her own record label, and in 2010, released her latest album, called "Homeward Bound." The lead single from this album topped the East Coast Countdown at a remarkable number 2, and got tons of radio airplay around Canada.
Aselin is now at St. Francis Xavier University, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where she is studying Human Kinetics. In 2012, she married Jonathan Ettinger, who was a former basket ball coach.
